How-to: Whiten Your Teeth Naturally

If you love coffee and tea as much as I do, there’s no doubt your teeth take a toll.  I’ve had success whitening my teeth with store-bought bleaching strips, but I always find that I get a killer headache after using them.  I am constantly seeking an organic, or all-natural alternative, to using harsh chemicals or products, so I did a little research and found the easiest way to whiten your teeth with ingredients you likely already have at home.

  1. Mix 1/4 cup baking soda with the juice of half of one lemon.
  2. Stir with a spoon as the concoction fizzes up.
  3. Brush the paste onto your teeth and let sit for no longer than one minute.  (I used a separate tooth brush for this step)
  4. Rinse your mouth, and brush your teeth with your regular tooth paste.

*Note: you will not want to do this more than once a week as it can wear away your tooth enamel if used too frequently.

It’s like you read my mind. I just bought some whitening gel from my dentist but it leaves my mouth pretty irritated. I will be trying this today and a few times in the month of Feb to get me ready for the spring and on camera shots :)
