This past weekend, my Mom & Stepdad came for a visit. To celebrate the first of fall, we spent Saturday driving into the country a ways to Marker-Miller Orchards for some apple picking, BBQ and bluegrass music. Truth be told; I have a love/hate relationship with apples. I love apple juice, apple cider, applesauce, apple pie, etc. However….the sound of someone biting into a cold, crisp apple, is to me, the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard to most. (Even the thought of it sends a shiver down my spine!) So although I happily participated in picking the apples off of the trees, I absolutely shied away from tasting firsthand. Once they’re baked, I’ll give it a go.

You know what’s crazy? I saw your post about ‘Weekend Bucket List’ and that’s what inspired me to go apple picking! My husband and I needed to get away from the city and I thought it would be the perfect day trip. Little did I know that’s what you had in mind too!

These pictures are so gorgeous! I just love how you’re on a little adventure in them almost, hehehee. Apple picking… how lovely! It’s okay that you’re not an apple fan (though as someone who eats a cold, sliced apple for breakfast every morning it is a bit scary to hear
haha!), because I hate tomatoes plain but love straight up tomato sauce, marinara, ketchup, and many other tomato-y things… hehe.
